De fix voor installatie van Exchange 2007 SP2 met Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controllers

Microsoft heeft bijgewerkte prerequisite files vrijgegeven voor Exchange 2007 SP2 met Windows 2008 R2 domein controllers. URL: Exchange 2007 SP2 Setup mislukt als alle domeincontrollers Windows Server 2008 R2 draaien. Met deze update moet de installatie goed gaan

1. Download en extract Exchange 2007 SP2.

2. Download het bijgewerkte ExBPA.PreReqs.xml en ExBPA.Readiness.xml bestanden. Let op: Gebruik de rechtermuisknop op de link en kies voor "Doel opslaan als …" anders wordt het XML-bestand geopend in u browser:

3. Sla de bestanden op.

Opmerking: Maak geen aanpassingen aan de gedownloade XML-bestanden. Het wijzigen van deze bestanden zal resulteren in installatie mislukking.

4. Zoek ExBPA.PreReqs.xml en ExBPA.Readiness.Xml bestanden op.  De locatie van deze bestanden zijn  "Setup\ ServerRoles\Common\EN". Her noem de originele XML-bestanden.

5. Kopieer de ExBPA.PreReqs.xml en ExBPA.Readiness.Xml bestanden die je gedownload hebt naar "Setup\ ServerRoles\Common\EN". .

6. Voer Setup uit.

  • Deploying Exchange Server 2010

    • You can deploy Exchange Server 2010 in your organization once all of the Client Access servers in your organization have been upgraded to Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2). In addition, any Exchange 2007 Server, regardless of server role, in the Active Directory site you are transitioning, must be upgraded to Exchange 2007 SP2.

  •   Exchange Backup Functionality

    • Exchange 2007 Service Pack 2 includes a VSS plug-in for Windows Server Backup to support Exchange backups. Once SP2 is installed, you can use Windows Server Backup to back up and restore your Exchange 2007 SP2 databases. The new plug-in is delivered in the form of a single executable called WSBExchange.exe. This plug-in is automatically installed by SP2 on all Exchange 2007 Mailbox servers. The plug-in enables Windows Server Backup to be able to make Exchange-aware VSS backups.   •   Enhanced Auditing

    • New Exchange auditing events and audit log repository enable Exchange administrators to more easily audit the activities occurring on their Exchange servers. It allows the right balance of granularity, performance, and easy access to audited events via a dedicated audit log repository. This simplifies the auditing process and makes review of audited events easier by segregating audited events in a dedicated location. For more information about the new auditing features available with SP2, see Understanding Mailbox Access Auditing with Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2.

  •   Dynamic Active Directory Schema Validation

    • The dynamic AD schema update and validation feature allows for future schema updates to be dynamic deployed as well as proactively preventing conflicts whenever a new property is added to the AD schema. Once this capability is deployed it will enable easier management of future schema updates and will prevent support issues when adding properties that don’t exist in the AD schema.   •   Public Folder Quota Management

    • Exchange 2007 Service Pack 2 provides a more efficient way to manage Public Folder quotas by improving the current cmdlets and removing the dependency on the Public Folder Distributed Authoring and Versioning Administration to perform management tasks.   •   Centralized Organizational Settings

    • There are several new cmdlet parameters that have been added that enable centralized management of many of the Exchange organization settings.

De Exchange Team heeft bekend gemaakt dat verwacht dat eind deze maand SP2 voor Exchange 2007 wordt vrij gegeven.

Rollup Pack 9 voor Exchange 2007 SP1

Microsoft heeft Rollup 9 voor Exchange 2007 SP1 uitgebracht. Hier zijn weer een hele hoop problemen opgelost. De verwachting dat SP2 nu snel komt komt steeds dichter bij aangezien deze nog gepland stond voor dit kwartaal.

Offline Defragmentatie Exchange Database in Exchange 2003 & Exchange 2007

Een Exchange omgeving dient jaarlijks 1 of 2 een offline defragmentatie van een Exchange database gedaan te worden.

Hier onder staan een aantal stappen om dit op een juiste manier te doen.

Waar moet je allemaal op controleren:

– Zorg dat je ongeveer 130-150% vrij ruimte uit om de database te defragmenteren.
– De store’s zijn ge-unmount
– MSexchangeIs service actief is alleen voor Integerity Check.

    SP2 voor Exchange 2007 heb je nodig wil je upgraden naar Exchange 2010
    Mocht je de SP2 niet willen installeren er komen nog een jaar lang updates uit voor Exchange 2007 SP1 na de release van SP2.

Exchange Server 2007 didn’t have this capability on Windows Server 2008 and additional solutions were required to perform this task.
  • Dynamic Active Directory Schema Update and Validation – The dynamic AD schema update and validation feature allows for future schema updates to be dynamic deployed as well as proactively preventing conflicts whenever a new property is added to the AD schema. Once this capability is deployed it will enable easier management of future schema updates and will prevent support issues when adding properties that don’t exist in the AD schema.
  • Public Folder Quota Management – SP2 enables a consistent way to manage quotas by improving the current PowerShell cmdlets to perform quota management tasks.
  • Centralized Organizational Settings – SP2 introduces new PowerShell option that enable centralized management of many of the Exchange organization settings.
  • Named Properties cmdlets – SP2 enables Exchange administrators to monitor their named property usage per database.
  • New User Interface for Managing Diagnostic Logging– SP2 enables Exchange administrators to easily configure and manage diagnostic logging from within the Exchange Management Console.
