Installeren System Center Essentials 2010 Beta op Windows 2008 R2
Je hebt minimaal 2GB nodig om System Center Essentials 2010 te kunnen installeren.
Microsoft adviseert 4GB. Voor installatie van alle functies heb je 150GB nodig als je de virtualisatie software ook wilt installeren.
Ik heb in mijn test omgeving al een SQL Server geïnstalleerd staan. Dus deze ga ik hiervoor ook gebruiken. 
Gebruik hier voor een Service Account voor die domain admin rechten heeft. 
XP client geeft Deployment & Inventory error in SCE 2007
1. Client Agent verwijderen in System Center
2. Register key’s verwijderen (Alles) onder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate
3. Opnieuw opstarten
4. Inloggen als administrator
5. Firewall uitschakkelen
6. Controleren of de computer gekoppeld is aan SCE Managemed Computers security group
7. Agent installeren via System Center
8. wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow /force
9. Even wachten 10min
10. Indien nog lang duurt wuauclt.exe /detectnow /force uitvoeren
11. Als het goed is moet nu Deployments & Inventory & Monitoring nu groen zijn.
12. Mocht het niet werken. Dan de volgende stappen opnieuw uitvoeren 2,3,4,5,8,9.10

De beta van Exchange 2010 wordt alleen op Windows 2008 x64 standaard of Enterprise door Microsoft ondersteund. Windows 2008 R2 kan het wel in werken maar het wordt nog niet ondersteund. Zie voor Exchange 2010 blog voor meer infomatie.

- Install the System Center Operations Manager 2007 console update. See Knowledge Base article 951327 The System Center Operations Manager 2007 console may crash in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Vista when you open the Health Explorer window.
- Install the Event Log service update. See Knowledge Base article 952664 The Event Log service may stop responding because of a deadlock on a Windows Server 2008-based computer.

Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) 2008 R2
Van het Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) 2008, het pack voor Windows desktop beheer dat Microsoft beschikbaar stelt aan klanten is er nu een R2-versie verschenen. MDOP bevat AIS; App-V; Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (beheer en installeren van virtuele pc’s); System Center Desktop Error Monitoring; Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) en de Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset. De R2-versie van MDOP bevat App-V 4.5 (voorheen Softgrid). Dankzij System Center Operations Manager 2007 Management Pack for App-V 4.5, is er een integratie met System Center. App-V 4.5 bevat Dynamic Suite Composition (DSC), voor het virtualiseren van suites, het ondersteunt 11 talen, en een licentie voor online dienstverleners, ‘Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.5 Hosting for Desktops’.
Advanced Group Policy Management 3.0 (AGPM) in MDOP is verbeterd.
Tevens bevat R2 versie Asset Inventory Service 1.5 (AIS) waar mee gescand kan worden welke software pakketten op de pc zitten of en of eventuele licenties nog kloppen.
